I have been meaning to write for a while now but, even with all the crazy events taking place lately, I couldn´t be attracted enough by one to be able to blog about it. Some people call it the ¨writer´s block¨, but my impression is that nothing interesting enough have crossed my way for the last month! I have been bored up to my head!
Let´s start with all the hype about making new years´ resolutions! I am one of those people who told my friend that they should write them down on a piece of paper not to forget them – I even went as far as thinking that I should have a Personal Mission and Vision, yes I am totally Business Brainwashed! Some people even tell you what your resolutions for 2011 should be: New body, new mind, new car, new laptop, bigger paycheck, maybe a new happier life, new partner, or a new wardrobe! Talking about wardrobes, all the fashion shows for Spring-Summer 2011, I am sorry but nothing impressive! Or probably nothing had impressed ME.
And of course in the top news natural disasters with the last one yesterday: the floods in KSA and Australia, followed by terrorism news such as the bomb attack at Moscow´s busiest airport, not to forget the sudden and surprising enlightenment of Arab people who are manifesting against their imperial regimes and leaders!
More in the top news: Steve Jobs and his indefinite sick leave, and Schmidt stepping down as the CEO of Google! It seems like it´s the end of the world as we know it! And of course all the Oscars and prizes for the accomplishments of 2010 in the media and art world!
Yes all this, and I was not inspired by any! It seemed to me like it´s more of the same! Nothing new! Did we get to the stage where it is simple routine that things change this fast, or scandals seem just normal regular daily events? Are we getting to the point where we are always waiting for the next bigger thing? Is the noise around us becoming like drugs? We always want more, and we want the hit/surprise to be stronger/ bigger?
Now all those ¨Back to nature movements¨ and people going on ¨Spiritual¨ or ¨Self-discovery¨ trips make more sense! Yes, we need to go on REHAB! A rehab from the world, or even from ourselves!
We should isolate ourselves from all the news that hit us every day so we could see better, be more compassionate with the people affected by terrorism or disasters, appreciate more innovation and not take it for granted, and have more respect to the people who are doing something to change the world. All those things should not be seen as another boring piece of news; they should definitely be more appreciated.
So be trendy, and go on a self- rehab, so you can see the world in all its colors.
And you what do you think?
